Nationwide Orientation Sites

Con-way Truckload has 11 orientation sites around the country to make it easy for prospective drivers to attend orientation sessions for road tests and an introduction to the company’s procedures.

Con-way Truckload offers one of the most comprehensive and generous benefits packages* in the industry. Following are just a few of these benefits:

Group Medical Plan
Annual deductible and out-of-pocket expenses vary depending on your premium options. Weekly premiums range from $10 to $44 per person. Insurance takes effect on the first day of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

Dental Plan
No charge. Dental coverage automatically goes into effect one year after the medical effective date. Deductible is $50 per person per year. Con-way Truckload pays 100% of preventive services (not subject to a deductible), 80% of basic services and 50% of major services, after the deductible has been met. Yearly plan maximum - $1,500 per calendar year.

Orthodontic Coverage
The plan is limited to children under the age of 19. Separate deductible: $50. Con-way Truckload pays 50% up to a lifetime maximum of $1,500.

Payroll
Drivers are paid each Friday for miles dispatched before midnight on Saturday of the prior week. Driver's payroll is credited with the dispatched miles at time of dispatch. Delivery and paperwork are not required before payment is made. Advance Limits - $0.10 per dispatched mile.

Passengers
No charge. With a 12-month pass from the Safety Department, drivers may take anyone 12 years or older with them as a passenger. (One person at a time.) The company reserves the right to place certain restrictions on passengers.

Pet Policy
One small dog or cat allowed. Fee required.

Orientation

Drivers attend orientation at one of 11 Con-way Truckload orientation sites around the United States:

  • Lancaster, Texas
  • El Paso, Texas
  • Laredo, Texas
  • West Memphis, Arkansas
  • Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Jacksonville, Florida
  • Effingham, Illinois
  • Birmingham, Alabama
  • Columbus, Ohio

Each driver receives $25 for each day of orientation upon successful completion of the program. Con-way Truckload pays for motel room charges.

Driver Referral

$1,000 bonus paid for each experienced driver or each experienced team hired as a result of driver referral.

Life Insurance

Con-way Truckload provides each employee, free of charge: $15,000 life insurance, double indemnity provision on the employee. Also free of charge is a $5,000 policy for a dependent spouse and $1,000 for each dependent child covered under the group medical plan.
