Brian BuschProfessional driving always appealed to DSR Brian Busch, who began his career operating a dump truck right out of high school.
“I had a chance to drive a truck at a really young age, and I liked it,” said Brian. “It just seemed like something I’d like to do for a living.”
For Brian, being aware of his surroundings is what has kept him accident-free for two million miles.
“I drive defensively, and always watch what other drivers around me are doing so I can react quickly if I have to,” said Brian.
Asked what motorists could do to make the roads safer for everyone, Brian answers, “They could be a little more courteous toward truck drivers, and not cut us off so much. Also, they need to stop texting while driving.”
While reaching two million miles was not a career objective for Brian, it is something he is proud of.
“It isn’t a goal I specifically set out to reach, but I definitely consider it a personal accomplishment,” he said.
A resident of Oak Creek., Wis., Brian is based out of Con-way Freight’s Milwaukee service center. He has two daughters: Sheila and Jessica; and four grandchildren: Thomas, 20; Breanna, 16; Zachary, 7; and Riley, 2.
In his free time, Brian is very active in the local motocross racing scene, which he has been involved with since 1971. He was an active rider for many years, and now enjoys supporting his grandson, Thomas, and son-in-law, Karter. He also enjoys helping his daughter and son-in-law operate their store, Ride Extreme Sports.
