Inbound Logistics’ Top 100 Motor Carriers (2010 and 2009)
For the second consecutive
year, Con-way Truckload has been named as a Top 100 Motor Carrier by Inbound Logistics. More than 250
companies applied to appear on the list. The Inbound Logistics editorial staff chooses the Top 100 Motor
Carriers by evaluating material submitted by entrants, as well as through
additional research and personal interviews with shippers, drivers, facility
managers, trucking company executives and others in the industry.
Transplace — Best On-Time
Performance (2010)
Criteria for the Best On-Time
Service Award included moving no fewer than 1,500 Transplace loads over the
past year and delivering best overall service. Con-way Truckload met those
goals, moving 5,788 loads and achieving nearly 98 percent on-time pickup and
delivery in 2009.
Transplace — Sustainability
Excellence (2010)
To win Transplace’s first-ever
Sustainability Excellence Award required top marks from EPA’s SmartWay Transport
Partnership, of which Con-way Truckload is a member. The company was also
selected based on sustainability accomplishments that included lowering its
speed governors from 70 to 65 mph, transitioning to single
wide-base/low-rolling-resistance tires and specifying aerodynamic fairings.
Excellence in Environmental Stewardship Award (2010)
Con-way Truckload was awarded the Excellence in Environmental
Stewardship Award from The Eastern Shawnee Longhouse Management Authority. This
award is presented annually by the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce to a
business in the Four State Area (Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma) that
has demonstrated outstanding efforts in environmental stewardship and
conservation.
Sonoco – Carrier of the Year (2010)
In
a unanimous decision, Con-way Truckload received Sonoco’s top transportation
award which goes to the carrier that most excels at growth, performance,
support of Sonoco initiatives and customer focus. Con-way Truckload grew
significantly with Sonoco from 2008 to 2009, hence the Prospector Award in
2009.
Best Fleet to Drive For (2010 and 2009)
Con-way Truckload was named a Best Fleet to Drive For by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA). Of the 70 nominated for-hire carriers, Con-way Truckload was among 20 to receive the first annual award. Carriers were evaluated on performance in areas such as benefits, professional development, driver and community support, and safety record.
United Sugars Corporation – Carrier Service Award (2010 and 2008)
Sonoco –Prospector of the Year (2009)
Each year, Sonoco presents its Prospector Award to a core carrier that
best demonstrates the ability to uncover and develop growth opportunities with
Sonoco. Since Con-way Truckload and Sonoco began working together in 2008,
Con-way Truckload not only achieved core carrier status but also substantially
increased its business with the company by proposing innovative ideas, visiting
company facilities and generating creative alternatives for moving freight.
Stevie® Award (2009)
Con-way Truckload won a Stevie® Award for Sales Department of the Year in the Distribution & Transportation category. Stevie Award judges selected winners from a group of finalists chosen from more than 500 entries submitted by companies of all sizes in a wide variety of industries.

SmartWay™ Award (2007 and 2006)
Con-way Truckload received the
highest fuel efficiency and environmental performance award from the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay™ Transport
Partnership for implementing innovative technologies aimed at further
reducing emissions and conserving fuel.
