Robert L. Bianco

Robert L. Bianco, Jr.

President of Menlo Worldwide Logistics, LLC and Executive Vice President, Con-way Inc.

Robert L. Bianco, Jr. is president of Menlo Worldwide Logistics, LLC, a $1.6 billion global provider of logistics, supply chain and transportation management services. Menlo Worldwide Logistics is a subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), a $5.6 billion freight transportation and logistics services company headquartered in  Ann Arbor, Mich. 

Mr. Bianco was named to his current position in 2005. As Menlo's president, he has executive responsibility for the strategic direction, financial performance and business growth for Menlo's worldwide operations, which span North America and 20 countries, employing nearly 6,500 people at some 130 locations worldwide. He also serves as an executive vice president of parent company Con-way Inc.

An executive with over 20 years of experience in the logistics industry, Mr. Bianco joined CNF Inc., the predecessor organization to Con-way, Inc.in 1989 as a management trainee. In 1990, he was promoted to manager of operations research, responsible for freight network optimization modeling. In 1992, he was named logistics manager for Menlo Logistics, and was responsible for implementing and managing supply chain solutions for customers in the hi-tech industry.

He subsequently advanced through a series of increasingly responsible positions where he managed distribution services, customer relationships, operations and business growth for the company. He was named vice president of operations for Menlo Logistics in 1997, was named president in 2002, and became Menlo's president and an executive vice president of the parent company Con-way Inc. in 2005

Mr. Bianco began his career as a logistics officer in the U.S. Army. Stationed in Europe, he was responsible for managing transportation of warfighting supplies to combat units in Europe.

Mr. Bianco is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and the IWLA where he serves as Chairman of the IWLA’s Government Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Rock-It Cargo USA, LLC, a privately held freight logistics company specializing in time-sensitive project and live event freight forwarding for the entertainment and related media industries. A native of San Francisco, Calif., he earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a master's degree from the University of San Francisco.

Mr. Bianco is based at Menlo Worldwide Logistics' headquarters in San Francisco, Calif.
